Bringing your space into a sustainable harmony involves teamwork. The power of the work I do is balanced by the power of the work you do. A combination of both is essential for creating a truly balanced space.
Entering into a conscious relationship with all your possessions is your first step. Every single thing you own also owns you because you've created a space in your mind for it. Consider whether you want your precious energy and financial resources to be spent on projects left incomplete, objects that are neglected, left dirty, or not repaired. Feel a resounding "Yes!" when you think of each possession. Or let them go.
The real bonus of simplifying is that you are free. Your mind is freer; your body is more flexible. After watching a client who eliminated 60% of her possessions in four weeks, I dubbed this work the fountain of youth. She looked 10 years younger, had more fluid movement in her body, and was radiant.
The work creates powerful results when you:
update your files
keep only what you love
pull up old and stagnant carpets
clean and organize your basement
remove old and stained wallpaper
mend, recycle, or discard broken items
make sure every drawer and closet has breathing space
clear all pathways of papers, clothing, boxes, furniture, etc.
fix mold and water leaks, cracked ceilings and walls, broken windows
organize your medicine cabinets, closets, kitchen drawers and cabinets
clean and organize your purse, glove compartment, trunk of your car, garage
start with one small space; notice how good you feel afterwards
